Maggie Mason

Global Justice Now activist

Maggie Mason and her late husband Andy joined Leeds WDM in 1974, remained members with intermittent group membership, and joined WDM/GJN South Lakes local group in 2002.

They helped create South Lakes Action on Climate Change to run alongside Global Justice Now South Lakes, and went to the COPs in Copenhagan and Paris together. Maggie was a town planner in the County Council’s Minerals and Waste Team until she retired 2015. She loves to share her climate and professional experience to empower others to make a difference. Maggie recently moved to Bristol near one of their 5 sons, but Zoom allows even more teamwork against the Cumbria Coal Mine!
