Treasurer
Voluntary unpaid position
The council of Global Justice Now is looking for a treasurer.
The treasurer is one of four officers of the Global Justice Now council, with specific responsibility for supporting the finance function of Global Justice Now, understanding the financial position and ensuring that the council is appropriately informed so that its members can make effective decisions on financial matters.
A good working knowledge of financial management and company accounts is required, although a formal accountancy qualification is not essential. You’ll need to be able to commit to approximately eight meetings a year (4 council meetings, normally held at our offices in London on Saturdays, and four executive committee meetings, normally held on Friday afternoons) and to attend the AGM. See below for the full role description.
We welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnicity, but as members of ethnic minority groups are currently under-represented in the organisation we would like to encourage applications from black and ethnic minority candidates. Appointment will be based on merit alone.
Global Justice Now’s council is a body elected by members, but in this case the council will use their powers of co-option once a suitable treasurer has been found.
If you are interested in this position, please send your CV and a covering letter to [email protected].
