REACTION ICJ ruling: “Beyond doubt UK should stop arms supply and suspend Israel trade deal”, campaigners say

Date: 19 July 2024
Campaigns: Palestine

Responding to today’s ICJ ruling, Tim Bierley, campaigner at Global Justice Now said:

This ruling is damning of Israel’s continuing occupation of Palestinian Territories, confirming it is illegal and amounts to apartheid. It says all states have an obligation to recognise the military occupation as illegal and to not give aid or support toward maintaining it.

As a result, it is surely now beyond doubt that the UK should stop supplying arms to Israel immediately, ban the import of goods from the illegal settlements and suspend its trade deal and negotiations with Israel. Anything less would be propping up apartheid.
