Rotherham
About us
Rotherham Action Group for World Development first came together in 1979 and a couple of the original group are still involved. We are now known as Rotherham for Global Justice, and are a small (but perfectly formed) group who now meet alternate months in the home of one of our members. This is usually a Monday evening from 7.30-9pm. This is friendlier and cheaper than renting a room but we are keen not to exclude new members due to the venue.
We welcome new blood and can offer a lift at least to your first meeting so you don’t get lost. We all share the need to raise awareness of the root causes of global poverty and injustice and we’re part of Global Justice Now, a democratic social justice organisation working to challenge the powerful and create a more just and equal world. We mobilise people for change and act in solidarity with those fighting injustice, particularly in the global south.
Get in touch if you’d like to find out more about campaigning locally and getting involved in the group. Newcomers are always welcome.
