For decades, campaigners around the world have been fighting for access to essential medicines. Drugs produced by the profit-hungry pharmaceutical industry have for too long been priced so high that millions die every year from treatable conditions. With numerous researchers across the world racing to find effective Covid-19 vaccines and treatments, campaigners are ramping up efforts to ensure that access for all is pushed to the top of the political agenda.

Speakers

Join Umunyana Rugege from Section 27 South Africa and Pedro Villardi from ABIAIDS Brazil as they share their fight for access to medicines in the global south and how this longstanding issue is impacting their struggle to ensure fair access to Covid-19 treatments and vaccines. Heidi Chow, Global Justice Now, will also be speaking on the panel about our campaign to push the UK government to take an active role to ensure global access for all to Covid-19 vaccines and treatments.

Join this webinar to find out how civil society is fighting back against big pharma’s grip over medicines to ensure Covid-19 vaccines are affordable and available to all.  We’ll be using Zoom for the event.
