We’ll be joining Movement for Justice by Any Means Necessary in this powerful show of solidarity with the women currently locked up in Yarl’s Wood detention centre.

Thousands of people are held in detention centres in the UK and more than 200 of them have been detained for over a year without having committed any crime – a practise that has been heavily criticised. Yarl’s Wood detention centre in particular has been in focus as a government report branded a “place of national concern” after allegations of sexual harassment and medical negligence.

This protest will be the launch action of the London Action Network, a new part of Global Justice Now’s activism. The London Action Network will be a space for organising creative, energetic grassroots activism to challenge London’s role in contributing to global injustice.
