Nationwide lobbying days for a Fossil Fuel Treaty

When: May 17, 2024 to May 18, 2024

We know that fossil fuels are driving climate chaos. We need a global exit plan to end the fossil fuel era now.

That’s why we need politicians at all levels to sit up and take notice of the Fossil Fuel Treaty. We’re organising nationwide lobbying days where MPs, MSPs and some local councillors around the UK will be hearing about the Fossil Fuel Treaty at the same time.

Fossil Fuel Treaty nationwide lobbying days – 17-18 May

What? Meet your local MP (or MSPs if you’re in Scotland), or councillors if there is a reason why you don’t want to talk to your MP. Tell them why they should support the Fossil Fuel Treaty

When? Friday 17 May/Saturday 18 May 2024 (these are the days when MPs and MSPs usually hold surgeries in their constituencies)

Where? MP and MSP surgeries and local council offices nationwide

Support from MPs, MSPs and local politicians will be key to pressuring the UK government to endorse of the Fossil Fuel Treaty – we need to demonstrate as much popular demand around it as possible.

We will also be holding a briefing meeting at 6.30pm on Tuesday 14 May to prepare for the lobbying days and answer any questions you might have about how to talk to MPs, MSPs and others about the Treaty. The link to join will be added to this page and sent out over email, so keep an eye out!
