Intro to Climate Justice & how to get involved in climate action
When: July 8, 2019

In this interactive workshop hosted by Our Future Now (London’s Global Justice Now youth group) we will unpack the concept of Climate Justice and explore how to put this concept into practice.
In the first half we will look at what Climate Justice means and explore why it is important for environmental movements/actions to take a climate justice perspective. We will draw links between inequality, racism, immigration and the climate crisis through interactive games and group work.
In the second half, we will look at how to put this climate justice perspective into practice through taking direct action. Power Beyond Borders is a mass action camp happening at the end of July in South East England hosted by our friends, Reclaim the Power. The aim of the camp is to take action against new gas infrastructure whilst also protesting the UK government’s hostile environment policy.
This will be a chance for you to find out how you can get involved in the camp and to meet other like-minded people who will be going.
This workshop is aimed at younger crowds who are perhaps new to activism and who are keen to learn more about climate justice and direct action. However, anyone is welcome (and encouraged!) to come along.
Note: As we have a limited amount of space please sign up to the Eventbrite (www.eventbrite.com/manage/events/64316343916/) for free tickets in order to secure a spot on this workshop
