Campaigns: Climate, Food, Pharma
Climate crisis, energy crisis, global pandemic: Big business is profiting from them all. Time to start demanding REAL change!
More of us than ever are demanding action from those in power to tackle the interlocking crises of climate, energy and the cost of living. It’s clear that all three are the result of an economic system that puts profit before people’s lives and the health of the planet – and this profit-driven system is hurting us all, here in the UK and around the world. Meanwhile, UK politics is in chaos.
But as ever, we’re not prepared to sit back, because from action comes hope and change!
Join global justice local activists from across Scotland for our winter gathering on Saturday 10 December. Find out more about how Global Justice Now’s campaigns fit into the current context, what we’re calling for and how we can work together for change now and into 2023.
And then join us for a social with festive drinks and mince pies from 3 – 4.30pm.
This is a hybrid event. We’d love to see you in person in Edinburgh, but if you are unable to travel, please join online (register on eventbrite to get the zoom link).
With:
Nick Dearden, director of Global Justice Now: how we can challenge corporate power and free market dogma – whether that be fossil fuel companies using corporate courts to sue governments, or speculation on food and energy prices on the financial markets.
Sangeeta Shashikant, Third World Network/People’s Vaccine and Alena Ivanova pharma campaigner at Global Justice Now: why we need to continue challenging the profit driven pharmaceutical system that has led to the scandal of global vaccine inequity and lack of access to affordable medicines for many countries of the global south and how to learn from scientists doing things differently.
