Annual general meeting 2023

Annual general meeting 2023

Jun03

When: 11:00 am, June 3, 2023

Saturday 3 June, 11am

Members of Global Justice Now (see definition below) are warmly invited to participate in our AGM, which will be held online this year using Zoom. The national gathering, which has often accompanied the AGM in the past, was replaced by a separate activist conference held on 25 March.

Registration for the AGM is now closed. If you are a member* and haven’t registered in time, email [email protected] with your name and postcode before 5pm on Friday 2 June, and we may be able to accommodate you.

AGM agenda

  1. Chair’s opening remarks
  2. Director’s report on Global Justice Now’s work
  3. Questions to the director and discussion.
  4. Adoption of the 2022 AGM minutes and matters arising.
  5. Treasurer’s report, and adoption.
  6. Appointment of auditors.

Resolutions

The deadline for resolutions to the AGM was 4 May (30 days before the AGM). It is still possible to submit an emergency resolution, but it can only be accepted if it would not have been possible to propose such a resolution before the deadline. See the Rules document below for further information. Email Steven Thomson: [email protected]

Proxy voting

The deadline for appointing a proxy has now passed.

Definition of membership

*In order to vote at the AGM, submit resolutions or appoint a proxy, you need to be a member of the organisation as defined in our Rules. Currently that involves paying a subscription of at least £36 annually, or in monthly installments. If you are not employed, or are under 26, the rate is at least £12 annually. Because we are holding the AGM online this year, unfortunately we’re not able to accommodate observers, as we’re not able to distinguish between voting and non-voting attendees. You are welcome to join in advance of the meeting.
