Activism 101: Challenging borders, climate change & corporations
When: October 30, 2019
When: Wednesday 30 October, 6 – 8pm
Where: Library Room, Liverpool Guild of Students, 160 Mount Pleasant, Liverpool, L3 5TR
We are inching closer to full-scale environmental destruction as governments are reinforcing borders. This is creating a form of global apartheid which works for the interests of corporate power but at the expense of everyone else. But this won’t stop us. This past year we’ve seen a rise in activism.
From the youth climate strikes to indigenous women activists protesting in Brazil. From migrants and activists resisting the detention regime to the growing feminist anti-fascist movement. People are showing that we can challenge oppressive structures and create a fairer world.
Are you up for getting involved in the global fight for justice?
Join us at this workshop aimed specifically at young people where we will be exploring the current wave of activism in the UK and beyond. Now is the time to get organised, get skilled up and build a more powerful movement for change!
